Hello, I saw you're game on steam in the greenlight section a long time ago. Congrats on making it! I can't wait to play this game, I did forget about it for awhile but I was on steam and I was looking at the following section I have on games that I want to play and I just remember this game! When will it be released?

Keep up the great work! Have a great day/night!

Hello GrimMan. Sorry for been late, I thought someone else would give you a better answer.
I think lot of people are waiting eagerly for Ymir, I know I am.

All informations we have about the release are on this post in the blog : Road Map To Completion
It was three months ago and Ronchon has completed the first part a few days ago. I think we are closer to one year than six month (well, nine and three months now) to the release, but it's coming, definitively. And I may be wrong, I only know the time took by the first task and I can't know if the others will be as long. Maybe not, maybe they will. We'll see in time.

I wish you a great day/week/whatyouwant. satisfied

Thank you for the time on release! I can not wait to try this game out. It looks amazing to me, all the different units to the building, I did see that someone said something about 6 months to a year but that was 7 months ago, so I figured it would be here soon.

Thank you and keep up the good work

Sincerely Grim

Just to clear any potential misunderstanding, I'm just a guy following the development since I heard about Ymir years ago and which was able to play in one of the open beta. I don't have any info except the forum and the blog. So take my information and especially my estimation about time to release with a grain of salt.

"Does Ronchon takes donation ?"

I have no idea myself. Let's wait for his answer. On the other hand, when the game will be out, the price will be about 5 euros (last time I heard, I may have evolved), then you can pay monthly for cosmetics (only cosmetics, no pay-to-win, he promises), which are more a kind of donation than anything.

"How was the beta ?"

It was three years ago and we couldn't go to war yet. So on the city builder part : It was already solid, we had something which reminded me Stronghold and such games. I haven't played caesar and such games, so I can't say how it compare exactly. The graphics were nice and pretty and my principal problem with the game was the fact than trade between cities couldn't be set "on repeat". It been remedied since, so we won't have to send manual trade caravans to feed our bigger cities (my expansion was driving by my need of food, until my economy couldn't hold more cities).
This base of the game hasn't changed much since, but the diplomacy has been implemented ingame, warfame is in full run, new buildings are here ...
The beta lasted three weeks and it was really cool.
I had a problem at start which made me lose almost all my resources (essentially, I've been dumb while moving my founding city) but over two weeks I had catch up with the other players. One of us was more preoccupied by the visual aspect of his city than efficiency and by gods it looked great.
Near the end of the beta things were getting a bit stale, but I have no doubt the introduction of warfare and npc raiders will pump up theses aspects.

And I wait eagerly for the local host version, so I can round up some friends and spend an afternoon on a lan of Ymir with an accelerated game speed.

That sound awesome! I wished I got to try it. And 5 euros? Not to bad I was planning on paying like 20 USD, but on the other hand I hope it comes out soon! I've been rewatching the few videos that are out for it.

I am currently away for christmas.

Just answering quikly to say that no, its not going to be 5 euros. This was years ago at the begining of the project which was then less ambitious with way less features and that i planned working on only as a hobby.

Since then i decided to make it a fulltime activity and leave my main job so thats all obsolete. I havent decided anything yet, it will also depend on the constraints of steam, but yes the basic game should be more around 20euros.

for the release date.. well as soon as i can! That will depend on the amount of random problems and tests too. Things keep taking more time as expected.. but im finally seeing the end line now.

As for donations, its true i never really considered it. I think Theres just too few people following the game so i never bothered! I dont think it could make a diffeence in my finances excrpt buying me a coffee or two. Maybe i should setup something.

retard

Happy holidays to everyone!

For donations i think i could donation more then just a cup of coffee haha, I really like this game and i want to help out as much as possible, so we/i can start playing it as soon as possible and thats great if you can see the end line now. I was hoping for a great answer and I got one! Thank you, the price of the game doesn't matter to me, if it could cost 100 or 200 USD and I would still buy it in a heart beat. You're work is amazing and I hope it comes out sooner then later but that's my own opinion
